A really cute Love Story and here it goes....
The Boy saw her in a party. She was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen... and very true that, many many a guys more eligible, were pursuing her while he though maybe quite a lad had no money and thus no panache!!! .
At the end of the party, he took the courage to invite her to have coffee with him, she was ofcourse surprised but being polite she did oblige...
They sat in a small but nice coffee shop, he was too nervous to say anything, it was a silent time, she for sure felt uncomfortable and thought to herself...
Please God, let me just go home...I can't take this guy any longer!.....
( hahahaha to all my guy friends ... It happens to the best of us!:-))
All of a sudden, he asked the waiter. "Sir, would you please give me some salt? I'd like to put it in my coffee.."
Everybody stared at him, Damn that was so strange!
And of course, he was embarrased and his face turned all red, but still he went ahead and put the salt in his coffee and drank all of it.
She asked him curiously...
You know that was wierd, why?
To which He replied: 'Well...when I was a little boy, I was living near the sea, I like playing in the sea, I could feel the taste of the sea, just like the taste of the salty coffee. Now every time I have the salty coffee, I always think of my childhood, think of my hometown, I miss my hometown so much, I miss my parents who are still living there'.
While saying that tears filled his eyes. She was deeply touched.
That's his true feeling, from the bottom of his heart. A man who can tell out his homesickness, he must be a man who loves home, cares about home, has responsibility of home. Then she also bagan to open up to him and started to speak herself, spoke about her faraway hometown, her childhood, her family. It was a really nice conversation and thus marked the start to a beautiful beginning of their story.
They saw each other every single day after that and one fine day he proposed to her and she said "YES".
She found that actually he was a man who met all her needs;he was handsome, he was tolerant, was kind hearted, warm, careful.... just beautiful. She loved him so much and to think she almost missed him the very first time they met!
Thanks to his salty coffee!:-)
Then the story unfolded out like every beautiful love story , the princess married to the prince, they lived happy life....
And, every time she made coffee for him, she put some salt in the coffeee, as she knew that's the way he liked it.
After 40 years, on his death bed, he left her a letter to be opened after his death, which read:
" My Dearest Love,
I Loved you all my life and love even at death. There is something i have to say to you....Please forgive me, for i lied to you. That was the only time I lied to you in my Life--- the salty coffee. Remember the first time we went out for a coffee? I was so nervous at that time, the truth was that I wanted some sugar, but I said salt... It was hard for me to change the order as i was nervous so I just went ahead and had the coffee with salt.I never thought that could be our start! I tried to tell you the truth many times in my life, but I was too afraid to do that, as you are the best thing that happend to me and i didn't want to let you know that what we had started with a Lie.....
Now I'm dying, and i think when a man faces his death, his whole life runs past him... And i feel I must tell you the truth...
I don't like coffee with salt. I hated it. Salty Coffee... what a strange bad taste it had...
But I have had the coffee with salt all my whole life so I could be with you ...I couldn't live a life without you. You complete me....!
And i dont't feel sorry for a life of having coffee with salt, my Dear because having you with me was the greatest joy of my life. If I can live another life, i want to live every of my breathing second with you and have you only to myself for a whole eternity....even though that means I have to drink the damn coffee with salt all over again.... Forgive my Love... i miss you so Much... "
Her tears made wet the letter.
Years later, someone asked her:
"what's the taste of salty coffee?
It's sweet. She replied looking over the horizon and watching the beautiful sunset.
